Is the image enhancer free?

Yes — all of it. Auto-enhance, live adjustments, presets and AI upscaling are completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limits.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

Never. Every enhancement and the AI upscaler run entirely in your browser. The only network activity is a one-time download of the app code and the AI model file, both of which are then cached on your device.

How much can I upscale an image?

2× or 4×. 4× output is capped at 8192px on the long edge on GPU-capable browsers, or 4096px on CPU/WASM; 2× is derived from the same 4× pass, so its effective ceiling is half that (4096px on GPU, 2048px on CPU). You'll see a "(capped)" note if a very large image hits the ceiling.

Does it work offline?

Mostly. Snaprio is installable as an app (PWA): enhance and adjustments work fully offline after your first visit. AI upscaling usually works offline too once the model is cached, but its runtime loads from a CDN — if your browser has evicted those files, the next AI upscale needs a connection again.

Which browsers get GPU-accelerated AI upscaling?

Chrome and Edge (desktop and recent Android), Safari 26+, and Firefox on Windows use your GPU automatically for faster upscaling. Other browsers fall back to CPU mode automatically — slower, but the same output quality.

Does it have filters like Instagram or VSCO?

Yes — a filmstrip of one-tap looks (B&W, Film, Vintage, Cinematic and more), each with an intensity slider, plus a full set of professional adjustments. Everything renders instantly on your device's GPU.

Why are the sliders so smooth?

Editing runs on your GPU with WebGL, so every adjustment updates in real time. Browsers without WebGL fall back to a CPU engine for the core adjustments.
